HYBRID, is the intersection of science and technology. By sitting in the middle of a cube Dubfire is expressing the relationship between man and machine – which is an evitable fusion. Technology was always part of his career, but how did he get to this point? How did Dubfire create his own sound through the years?

Going back to 2002, Dubfire was part of Deep Dish, a duo that changed the electronic music scene by bringing back home a Grammy Award;for their remix of Dido’s “Thank You”. Even with a lot of recognition from the public, Ali had a darker personality where techno was king. Encouraged by the king of darkness himself, Richie Hawtin, Ali decided to let this minimal alter ego come out and that’s how Dubfire was born.

During this time, he also established his well-known label, SCI + TEC, where he published classics like “Slowburn” and “Octvs” and remixed big Dj’s like Plastikman and Radio Slave. Not content with music production, he decided to produce his own autobiographic movie, “Dubfire- Above Ground Level”, in this documentary piece, we can watch interviews with Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, Loco Dice and Carl Cox, but also family and childhood friends. The film takes an intimate look inside the world of dance music, from how to pursuit your passion to the challenges that you face as an electronic music artist.

HYBRID is the living proof of this passion, after two years after two years of hard work and research, he reinvented the concert experience. The live show combined overlapping screen projections, a mind-blowing display of strobe lights and a powerful 2D and 3D visual framework, Dubfire and his team perfectly incorporate the latest advancements in technology to deliver an out of this planet experience.

After a non-stop tour all around the world, HYBRID came to an end, final showcases happened at Coachella, International Music Summit Ibiza, Dockyard Festival, Movement and the last one at HYTE during New Year’s Eve. HYBRID, it’s clearly the culmination of Dubfire’s first chapter solo career; we can expect him to unveil some new and mind-blowing projects in the near future.
